Sul de Sac - Surrounded by members of Peridot Road Foundation, Jon Hart,
winner of the foundation's slogan contest for the Domestic Violence Awareness
Statue, received his prize of a 3-month family membership at Port de Plaisance
from Wissam Elhage of the resort's health and tennis club. Hart also received a
voucher for NAf. 50 worth of gas from Texaco, official sponsor of the Churchill
roundabout near Le Grand Marche where the statue is located. The presentation
took place at Mark's Place. The plaque affixed to the base of the statue reads:
"Guarding loved ones you may lose." The foundation also received a US $2,000
donation from Louis Tackling, General Manager of St. Maarten Caribbean Lottery.
"This is a very worthy cause, because the statue is very powerful," said
Tackling.
